What do Parent Info Nights Do?
Every year, Foxdale Kindergarten hosts dedicated parent information nights that serve as a vital bridge between the centre’s educational programs and families’ understanding of their child’s development. These events are carefully designed to strengthen the partnership between educators and parents, ensuring families feel informed, involved, and empowered to support their child’s learning journey.
During these evenings, educators present insights into the curriculum, explain the pedagogical approaches used at Foxdale (including play-based learning and the Belonging, Being and Becoming Framework), and demonstrate how everyday activities support specific developmental milestones. Parents gain a deeper appreciation for how seemingly simple play experiences are actually intentionally designed learning opportunities.
Why they are Important
The information nights cover practical topics that matter to families, such as how the School Readiness Program prepares children for primary school, what developmental milestones to expect at different ages, how the Daily 12 Books literacy program works, and strategies parents can use at home to reinforce learning. Educators may also discuss the centre’s approach to behaviour guidance, social-emotional development, and how individual children’s needs are met within group settings.
These events provide valuable opportunities for parents to ask questions, share their own observations about their child’s progress, and connect with other families in the Foxdale community.
