Age-Based Group Programs Designed Around Developmental Milestones

Foxdale Kindergarten’s group programs are specifically structured around the recognised developmental milestones that children achieve at different ages and stages of their early childhood journey. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, educators design targeted group activities that align with where children are in their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
For babies and toddlers (0-3 years):
Group programs focus on foundational milestones such as sensory exploration, early language development, gross and fine motor skill building, and social interaction through parallel play. Activities are designed to be stimulating yet age-appropriate, with educators facilitating experiences that encourage curiosity and discovery within a safe, nurturing environment.
The menu is carefully planned to include a variety of food groups, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and dairy products in age-appropriate portions. Meals are designed to be appealing to young palates while introducing children to diverse flavours and healthy eating habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
For kindy and preschool children (3-5 years):
Group programs become more complex and collaborative, addressing milestones related to cooperative play, early numeracy and literacy concepts, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and independence. These sessions prepare children for the social dynamics and learning expectations they’ll encounter in primary school while maintaining the play-based approach that makes learning engaging and meaningful.
Each group program is intentionally planned to meet children where they are developmentally, providing appropriate challenges that promote growth without causing frustration. Educators observe children’s progress continuously, adjusting group activities to ensure every child is supported in reaching their next developmental milestone while building confidence and competence.
